About Us
Brief Biography:
Rogerio is the head BJJ instructor for all of the Tatu BJJ academies
throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with plans of expanding his style of
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the future to other areas in the region. He originally hails
from southern Brazil, where he trained BJJ under legendary practitioners, Prof.
Paulo Guimaraes and Prof. Jorge Pereira, Blacks Belts under the lineage of
Master Rickson Gracie. Rogerio is nicknamed "Tatu," which translates from
Portuguese to English as "the armadillo." He was given this nickname by his
peers, because of how well he defends his back during fights.

Rogerio came to the United States in 2000 to start his own academy and to
teach the skills he learned from his professors. Rogerio is the founder of the
Pennsylvania State Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, which is governed by the
IBJJF. He has amassed numerous BJJ accolades in Gi and No-Gi grappling
and currently holds the rank of 2nd Degree BJJ Black Belt

A striped Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Bob Mattis is Owner and Instructor of Keystone BJJ & MMA
located in Bristol Borough, PA. With more than 25 years of various Martial Arts technique, he specializes in
teaching the fundamentals and advanced technique of BJJ, Muay Thai, Kickboxing and basic self-defense for
ages 7 and beyond.
His school is validated under the Pennsylvania State Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation under three-time Pan
American champion Rogerio "Tatu" Taborda, a BJJ Black Belt.
He also competes in middle-weight Brown Belt divisions in Gi and no Gi tournaments such as the
Pennsylvania State Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation Gi tournaments and Pan American Jiu Jitsu championships
2008 and 2009.
Kevin Morrow, Owner and Instructor at Keystone BJJ is a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu
Jitsu and multi-style student of the Martial Arts.
He competes in the middle heavy weight Purple Belt divisions in Gi and no Gi Brazilian
Jiu Jitsu tournaments, lkike the Pennsylvania State Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Federation Gi tournament. He is a certified Pennsylvania State Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
